Last week, I got that sudden urge to cut my hair... and cut it now! I didn't have an appointment and I knew I couldn't afford a hair cut and weave this month anyway so,
I thought to myself, "there's no reason that Joe couldn't cut my hair!!"
So, I gave him some hair cutting scissors and began to coach him through what I had seen done dozens of times.
First, I gave him a ruler and told him to use it as his guide to cut off four inches. I put down the bottom layer, tipped my head forward, and away we went.
Joe was literally breathing heavy throughout the entire hair cut; he was so nervous! I had confidence in him though! I also knew that if he really messed things up, I had plenty enough hair to get more cut off by someone who was actually trained to do this.
When he was done with the bottom length all the way around, I took a try at some layers and trimming around my face. In all honesty, he did a much better job than I did.
Nobody look too close at those choppy layers I'm now styling.

Here we are the following evening... and there's the final product of our hair cutting experience.
Not too shabby, really!
This picture brings me to my next blogging topic... the funnest night of our 2011 lives thus far.
We went to a dinner and dance in a barn just outside of town.
This wasn't any barn though, it's a fancy barn and winery where people actually get married and have parties! There was also karaoke!
Joe was not shy at all to get up and kick off the evening with
Shania Twain's "Man, I Feel Like a Woman!"
Nobody was dancing until Joe started singing. It was awesome!

Oh, I love that man. He brings so much joy and laughter into my life.
I also took my first shot at karaoke with 3 of my girlfriends.
The food was good... the dancing was awesome. The night air was perfect! The campfire outside was picturesque. Made me feel like a true country girl to be barn stompin' to country line dances IN the country... not at Trolley Square, not in a parking lot off University Avenue in Provo, but IN the country!
I wish we could do this on a regular basis.
I just kept thinking over and over the entire night... this is SO FUN!!!
This is one of the funnest things we've ever done in this tiny town!

Here's a picture of all the true dancing queens and kings who stayed until the very last song was played!
We are the ultimate party animals!!!

I'm a little jealous. I wish we had activities like that around here. It sounds like it was so much fun!
That really was such a fun night! Joe's singing definitely got the party started and I was impressed with all your country dancing skills! We need to get them to have another one next year.
That was Chelsey that just left that comment by the way...
i love all of it...especially the sweaty pit pics at the end. haha!
I am a little jealous. That sounds like so much fun! And your hair still looks so long! I can't believe you trusted Joe and yourself to cut your hair. I could NEVER do that. I got my haircut this weekend too and got 3 inches cut. I feel like it's way shorter but no one else even notices. *sigh*
Great job on the haircut Joe! ...That really was such a fun night! I loved our karaoke! Wish we could do something like this every weekend!
I think Joe missed his calling in life... medical school?! Pshaw! Should have been a hair stylist all the way! ( ;
